Who are we?

We have been operating since 2018 and formed with a specific purpose. Spalding, Lincolnshire and its surroundings has a rich heritage of food production and farming. In response to the need to distribute the huge volume of raw materials and finished product in the area, numerous haulage and storage companies have formed, developed and grown.

Some of the lesser known companies need support with some aspects of managing their ‘operator licence’ which is a government requirement if they wish to distribute goods. This is where Logistics Support Services comes in.

We help SME’s, farmers, owner drivers and horsebox owners apply for their Restricted or Standard International operator licences.

Once they have been awarded the licence, we help them maintain it by acting as their External Transport Manager. This involves overseeing their maintenance, inspections, tachograph analysis and defect reporting. We also ensure they comply with all the other undertakings required by their licence.

We undertake tachograph analysis with a user-friendly program not only for the licence holders we manage locally, but remotely for clients in London. We can do this for any company anywhere in the UK.

We achieve operator and compliance excellence by achieving a green OCRS (Operator Compliance Risk Score) for all the companies we work with. We consistently achieve less than 5% infringement rate for all the drivers we work with by employing a combination of driver engagement and continuous assessment and improvement.

We have been active in the Logistics industry locally, nationally and internationally for over 20 years. The experience, insight and contacts drawn from this has contributed to the success of Logistics Support Services who are proud to count local and nationally based companies as clients.

In 2019 we worked on two projects one local and one European client identifying storage space in the Greater Spalding and Greater Peterborough areas, this has helped them prepare for peaks and troughs in their calendar as well as address the issues faced with uncertainty around Brexit.

With extensive knowledge of the operations of Gist, XPO, Reed Boardall, Freshlinc, Turners and Fowler Welch as well as contacts and relationships with local hauliers Midas, SA Moore, Robsons, Midas and CPT, our customers have the confidence to call us If they are in need of some assistance with ad-hoc distribution and storage.

We also offer CPC training collaborating with training partners locally.
Our customer service excellence is achieved by being always available 24/7, by having our clients referring us on to other potential clients, and by feedback from our current clients. If we are approached, and yet unable to solve a problem or provide a solution ourselves, we will source a provider ourselves with no disruption of service to the client.
